Roomlala referral programme: how it works and how to earn your rewards

Updated on 08/09/2026

Have you been spreading the word about Roomlala and wondering what's in it for you? Here is everything you need to know about our referral scheme and the bonuses you can receive.

The principle in a nutshell

Every Roomlala member has a personal referral code. When someone you have referred makes a booking on Roomlala, you receive a bonus: a share of the commission that Roomlala earns on that booking.

This bonus is not a discount voucher: it is real money, transferred directly to your bank account.

Where to find your referral code

Head to the Referral section of your profile. Your code is displayed at the top of the page. Simply share it with the people you wish to refer.

Entering your referrer's code

If someone has shared their code with you, enter it in the designated field on the same page and save it. A few points to keep in mind:

  • You can only choose a referrer once. Once the code is saved, it cannot be changed.
  • You cannot enter your own code.
  • Your account must have been created after your referrer's account.

Take a moment to double-check the code before submitting.

How the bonus is calculated

The bonus equals 30% of the commission collected by Roomlala on the first instalment of your referral's booking. The amount therefore depends on the rent and the terms of the booking: the larger the booking, the higher the bonus.

Referral works both ways: whether your referral is a tenant or a host on the booking, you receive the bonus.

You don't need to do anything: as soon as your referral's booking is confirmed and the host has been paid, the bonus will automatically appear in your Referral section.

The different bonus statuses

Every bonus shown in your history has a status:

  • Pending: the bonus has been earned but is not yet withdrawable. The date it will become available is indicated below the line.
  • Available: the bonus can be included in a payout request.
  • Request in progress: the bonus is part of a payout request that is currently being processed.
  • Paid: the transfer has been completed.
  • Cancelled: the booking associated with the bonus did not proceed.

The summary at the top of the section gives you an at-a-glance view of your total available, pending, and paid amounts.

When does a bonus become available?

A bonus remains pending for a period of 3 days. This period starts on the later of these two dates: the tenant's move-in date or the date the payment was made to the host.

This short waiting period allows us to ensure that the booking went smoothly before releasing the funds. Once the period has passed, the bonus automatically switches to "Available".

Sometimes a bonus may remain pending a little longer: certain situations trigger a manual check by our team (for example, if the referrer and the referred person share the same contact details). This is just a routine check, not a rejection.

Receiving your bonuses

Payouts are not automatic: you must trigger them using the button in the Referral section. For this button to be active, four conditions must be met:

  • Your identity must be verified.
  • Your bank details must be registered and validated.
  • Your total available bonuses must reach €20.
  • There must be no other payout requests in progress.

If one of these conditions is not met, a message will indicate exactly what needs to be fixed. The €20 threshold is simple: below this amount, the bank transfer fees would exceed the amount sent.

Once the request is submitted, it is reviewed by our team before the payment is sent. You can follow its progress in the payment history at the bottom of the Referral section.

The transfer is made in whole euros. The remaining cents are not lost: they stay in your account and will be added to your next payout.

Why a bonus might be cancelled

A bonus is based on a commission actually collected by Roomlala. If this commission is lost, the bonus is cancelled. This happens when:

  • the booking is cancelled by the tenant or the host;
  • the booking is declined or expires without being confirmed;
  • the payment schedule is recalculated following a change to the booking. In this case, a new bonus is created based on the new schedule.

Bonuses that have already been paid out are never clawed back.

A few special cases

  • You cannot refer yourself: the corresponding bonus will be cancelled.
  • You cannot earn a bonus on a booking where you are the tenant or the host.
  • There is no limit to the number of people you can refer.
