I'm not receiving the SMS code 📲

Updated on 01/04/2026

Haven't received the expected SMS from Roomlala? Don't panic. In most cases, the issue is down to a simple notification setting or an incorrectly entered number. Here’s how to check and fix this in just a few minutes.

Why Roomlala sends you SMS messages

We send you SMS messages in two main situations:

  • To verify your phone number during sign-up.
  • To notify you of an important event, such as a new booking request.

1. Check your notification settings

Log in to your account, go to the "My account" tab, then to the "Profile" section.

Make sure the following option is ticked:

  • "I agree to receive SMS alerts regarding booking requests"

2. Check your phone number

A single wrong digit or incorrect country code is enough to prevent receipt. Check your number and its country code in the "My account" tab, under the "Verifications" section.

3. If the SMS still doesn't arrive

The blockage often comes from your service provider. A few things to check:

  • Service provider spam filter: Some providers filter automatic SMS messages. Contact your service provider or check your online customer portal settings to unblock them.
  • Prepaid or unpaid plan: In the event of an insufficient balance, unpaid bills, or late payment, your service provider may suspend incoming SMS messages.

Is SMS verification mandatory?

Yes, and it’s important. Verifying your number via SMS is the only way to confirm your phone number. It allows other members of the Roomlala community to contact you easily in the event of a booking, and strengthens trust between hosts and guests.
