Why and how do I provide my tax information in my personal account?
Updated on 08/07/2026
A "Taxation" section has appeared in your host dashboard and you're wondering what it's about? Don't worry. Here is why this information is being requested and how to fill it in within a few minutes.
Am I affected by these regulations?
The European directive 2021/514, known as "DAC7", requires Roomlala to collect certain tax information from hosts who receive income via the platform, and then to transmit it to the relevant tax authorities.
You are affected if you:
- are a tax resident of a member state of the European Union,
- or if you rent out accommodation located in the European Union.
If this applies to you, providing your tax information is mandatory. The "Taxation" section will then appear in your host dashboard: this is the sign that this information is required from you.
How do I provide my tax information?
It will only take a few minutes. Have your tax identification number (or your company information) ready, then follow these steps:
- Log in to your Roomlala personal account.
- Open the "Host" menu, then click on the Taxation section.
- In the "You are" field, indicate whether you are completing the form as an individual or as a company.
- Complete the required fields.
- Click "Save".
Individual or company: which one to choose?
At the very top of the form, the "You are" field gives you a choice between two options. You can switch between them at any time: the fields to be filled in will automatically adapt to your selection.
- "An individual": you are renting in your own name. You will be asked for your first and last name, date and country of birth, as well as your tax identification number (found on your tax assessment notices).
- "A company": you are renting on behalf of a legal entity (company). You will be asked for the registered business name, the business registration number (SIREN) and, if applicable, the VAT number (optional).
In both cases, you will also provide your address (country, street, postcode and city), and then click "Save".
What happens if I don't provide it?
Roomlala has a legal obligation to collect this information and transmit it to the relevant tax authorities. As long as your form is not completed, your rental payments will be suspended until the situation is resolved.
